Not my best guess that it’s only marginally more likely. I think if you: -fly often -have a social circle who flies often -go to large gatherings often You are way more likely to currently have covid-19.https://twitter.com/ATabarrok/status/1238300090286190592 …

The thing to learn from famous people having the virus is that prevalence is higher than we think. The famous get tested much more but may be only marginally more likely to have it. https://twitter.com/cnnbrk/status/1238286757264797697 …

I think it’s mostly worth making this point just bc I believe it’s true. But also bc fatalism and “well now it’s inevitable that we’ll all get it” is both false and harmful. We have been slow to act, yes, but what is our vast material wealth for if not solving hard problems?

Famous people may be better informed and more paranoid than average people, they are also less likely to physically interact with the TSA and other passengers while flying.

Some celebrities are indeed very cautious! I would bet many are not though. Seems like a good point about TSA. I think the argument stands though.https://www.google.com/amp/s/pagesix.com/2020/03/10/naomi-campbell-amps-up-airplane-routine-with-hazmat-suit-mask-amid-coronavirus-fears/amp/ …

A substantial subset of the celebrities I met are aware that infections are one of the main things that may shorten their life span

Interesting to hear! What sort of precautions do they usually take from what you know?
