i mean, seriously. it started in my tl with erik weinstein singing an illustrated eulogy on western mathematical ability on behalf of the idw (i even fell for it), then everybody seemed to discover a point they could prove with it, and now we get the reaction and counter reaction

there won't be self sustaining fuel in it, so it's not going to become some kind of gate, but it will be a minor supplementary part of tv history; I think I am old enough to remember when this exchange would have caused more humor than rage
