I don't believe that C19 is a bioweapon, or that it was engineered, but I don't understand how @elizabarklay *proves* that it must have gotten to the Wuhan wet market from a bat cave 1000 miles away instead accidentally from a lab studying SARS 280m away?https://www.vox.com/2020/3/4/21156607/how-did-the-coronavirus-get-started-china-wuhan-lab …

I mean, I really have no idea what happened! But this article does not seem to prove its emphatic claim at all? Am I missing something? How can it be proven that this did not stem from a lab animal? And what are the odds that this specific lab was just randomly across the street?

@elizabarklay's lengthy tangent that the belief that the virus may have escaped from the lab may have a bad effect on the scientific work of the lab or public morale, or that bad people want you to believe bad things is completely irrelevant for understanding what happened btw.

I wonder it this is one of these things that everybody can see clearly but that you are just not supposed to say out loud.

@elizabarclay have known @Plinz for as long as I’ve know you. He would be worth calling up and talking about his logic, even if you don’t end up agreeing with him, the dialogue between the two of you would be worth recording- I am certain of it.

I wish her well, and I am happy to talk, but I am not an expert that can add anything to Eliza's sources. I just did not understand how the argument she made in the article logically plausible.

Yes, but how does that show that it did not escape from the lab?

It's crazy how so many "debunkers" confound all suspicions about the lab with conspiracy theories saying that it must be an engineered bioweapon. So many different thing can go wrong in a virology lab, and China has made mistakes historically.

Wait I thought it emerged from bio research firm where HIV and random exotic animal bugs joined in partnership to solve the problems of youth-in-Asia. ;)
