Detection is hard because emotions are interpretations, so you have to predict another person's interpretations. I'm not sure even if my own interpretations are correct. But detecting others ppl signaling of emotion would be easier.

Even simple emotion signaling depends on expressing a differential between expected and intentional performance, and emotion recognition tries to determine the ground truth from deficits in the performance.
