Your opinion does not mean much if you have not deliberately chosen it after fully understanding the alternatives. It's actually much easier to not have an opinion on most things. Weirdly, people feel that political opinions are an exception, even children must have them.

It's about who you prioritize, and there's no hard rules on that. I think ethics is an emergent phenomenon that deals with how should we act, faced with the reality of different agents that have different goals. Some people weigh similar people higher in this calculation

It has pros and cons, depending on the environment you're in. But probably, because we're living in a way safer environment than our ancestors, we should down-regulate our tribalistic sense, while still being vigilant for moral free-riders. Utopian thinking is dangerous, as well
