The Postillon is Germany's "The Onion". They can see in the future: Naomi Seibt is Greta Thunder. https://www.der-postillon.com/2019/12/greta-thunder.html …https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/greta-thunberg-copycat-naomi-seibt-embraced-by-climate-denier-group-heartland-institute-in-cynical-ploy …

Of course the right wing peddling this, if they really believe it, are idiots. But what if they are just trying to get press, & what if us sharing stories about her & laughing are helping promote their agenda? I give it 5 minutes before a major news network gives her a platform.

Both Greta and Anti-Greta are symbols. Humans believe in symbolic narratives. The fact that some narratives match some models is usually less relevant than whether they match incentives.

I like Greta. But if you require her messaging for understanding the challenges of global warming, you are just as much lost as when you think that Naomi Seibt is competent to update your world view.

"Need" no. But Thunberg is a significant symbol, especially for younger people. People see her and think "She is me! That is my fight". And that's no doubt what the people grooming Seibt would like 'people' to see her and think.

There were Gretas in every decade, but nobody cared about them. If some nerd kid freaked out in 1985 because they read frontiers to growth and understood global warming, nobody cared. Humans are an idiotic species. Individual political opinions are more fashions than anything.
