The simulation running in our brain does not have somehow a window to the outside world. What we perceive as the outside world is the simulation. The relationship between mind and substrate is the same as between hardware and software.

Yea, AFAIK we don't really know what was at the very start. But it seems that closely after it was at minimum entropy, and it evolves from there to a thermo equilibrium of maximum entropy.

If the entropy always increases, that seems the logical hypothesis.

I’d bet it starts the same way anything seems to, with some instability looking for a a better configuration. For our purposes, the instability seems an asymmetry of matter
