In the US, private parties are effectively extracting massive amounts of effectively unavoidable taxes (especially health insurance and education) that subvert free market dynamics and lead to inefficient services while sucking the economy dry.

Similarly, any government that needs to contract out work that the public needs done should only ever be awarded to non-profit organizations, or at least individuals who are paid at a living wage.
