The soul is a type of aesthetic: the optimization target that the mind maintains to construct the self. The soul is the platonic form of the intentional agency of an individual.

For most people, the soul seems to be a just happy feeling of already achieved selfhood. A thing they do not have to optimize, or consider the form of. Very few people say things like "I'm a bit removed from my soul today" or "my soul is almost in reach!".

I feel that I have largely lost my soul, and I notice it by observing that I am not immersed in experience but in abstractions. Feelings and experiences are distractions coming in from a distant land.

I am where it is, but it’s gotten lost in a world removed from most experience

It? Are there two operating systems in one consciousness? One system to succeed in problem solving and another without any service in academia, called the 'soul'. That part of the self aware consciousness which proves its own existence only through qualia?

Yes, that’s close. I mostly live in my intellect, not in my experience. It has to do with attentional focus

The intellect can operate often times as a powerful tool to protect oneself from experience. If fear comes up the intellect has the ability to explain and sooth the mind. So it keeps calm. Underneath we still own the constant presence of the soul.

If it stops caring, it dissolves. We emerge and are bound together inside of a feedback loop
