It's strange that memetics isn't really a formalized field of research. The notion of humans as 'hosts' to ideas rather than the 'creators' of ideas is just so intriguing. And if a model makes predictions about information flows at scale then there's some validity to it.

You're entering one of my favorite pet ideas of Cogito ergo sum, starting with nothing more than "something exists (because there is something observing/thinking this right now)". Outside of that, it's likely a lot of subjective interpretation. We are all stories.
