Do most Twitter users know that their “likes” are public?

Likes fulfil that purpose even if private. But turning them into retweets just muddies the meaning of the symbols. If they wanted different things to be visible, they should have nudged people to change behaviour with suggestions, not just disregard their intentions.

Do you think recipients of likes should ever be able to see who liked their tweets? It seems like that’s a level of privacy most users wouldn’t want, since it’s nice for the recipient to know you liked their tweet.
