It's framing the one on the right as a poseur and not really an intellectual and is effectively a gatekeeping dynamic. I find it hilarious that the comment thread here is effectively an IQ signaling game.

TL;DR: this is ingroup hierarchy formation in the wild! "Members of our community, I argue, select in by being high on the trait of seeing through social/sacred illusions; or, to put it another way, low on the trait of perceiving social/sacred reality." https://www.gwern.net/docs/philo/2012-sistery-tryingtoseethrough.html …

The one on left is framed trying to uncover base models of the structure on society, the one on the right is framed as just jumping on the band wagon of popular memes. It's gatekeeping in much the same way as https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gamer%20girl … but for intellectuals exploring fringe ideas.

I'm reframing the meme format as a form of self-abasement by suggesting it's a form of self-satire by pointing out veiled misogony while simultaneously lampooning myself as a meta-IQ signaler (c.f. https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/vA2Gd2PQjNk68ngFu/what-determines-the-balance-between-intelligence-signaling …) by explaining the meme.
