Yann LeCun makes a very clear and honest statement of why Deep Learning is not enough. It's not enough because there are functions that don't emerge intrinsically from the network.https://twitter.com/ylecun/status/1215286749477384192 …

This is not what he said here. Every stepwise constructive or evolutionary process is in a sense an optimization via a gradient based method, so DL is a sufficiently broad methodology, but you'll still need to set up the system performing the optimization or meta optimization.

I guess all you folks truly believe that intelligence lies in control system but not the whole body. So, the body evolved to accomodate a complex brain and discovering the right control system architecture is all about building intelligent machines. Good luck guys...

Don't be so smug thinking we don't realize the importance of biological evolution. I've been writing about that extensively. What have you written?

I am more of a doer rather than a writer. Good luck again.

Writing is also doing. I guess you haven't been doing a lot of doing.

Carlos, in which way is it relevant to your or someone else's argument that you have written a lot?

The content is relevant. So if someone claims X, I would like to see if he's at least written something about it. This aids in understanding the person's model. If there's nothing out there, then I suspect the person doesn't have a model. If he doesn't have a model, then?

I recall that you did write that 'intelligence was model making'. What then can I say if the person has no model?

I think that good and bad arguments will have to make their own case, my own persona is not adding anything to them. I also try (and often fail) to be detached from my argument: if I feel that I get diminished by being wrong, I will be afraid to admit mistakes.

The evolutionary purpose of argumentation is so that one can discover their mistakes through the arguments of others.
