We are born with priors for forming certain models. For instance, our body image expects us to have five fingers, even if we are born with only four (some people that lost a four fingered hand developed a five fingered phantom hand). We have priors for the shape of our genitals.

In the same way, we probably have priors for rules of social interaction, and for the structure of the self, and for our basic ontology. The knowledge that we acquire later is often reverse engineering these priors, i.e. makes them explicit so we can discuss them.

The priors are just strong tendencies for forming certain tacit knowledge. The explicit knowledge is probably not innate.

Yes, but not very interesting, because it can also be derived. More interesting: Interpreting emotion from facial expression. Sense of justice and fairness. Behavior in hierarchies. Propensity for religion. Interpreting people primarily as self-interested or as rule-following.

I love that you're more Chomsky than Chomsky (a compliment). I admire the guys independence & integrity. Dont know if he is correct about discontinuities in the evolution of language but i dont know much in any case. I believe numerosity is present at 5 months (w corneal video).
