Don't judge people by their political opinions, judge them by the principles that govern their behavior. Most people have never chosen their opinions deliberately, because they never fully understood the available options.
I used to think that most were, but then I discovered that most politicians do indeed represent the values of a part of the constituency. I was just unable to represent the value systems of policemen, judges, supermarket managers, petty white collar criminals, unionizers etc.

One cannot honestly claim to "represent" a constituency when a large portion of them disagree with your positions. If we had representatives, they would represent our positions, as a lawyer is supposed to. Otherwise it's just more hypocrisy, or fantasy.
