If we succeed to make AI at the human level, it means that the AI will have to able to create AI. The true Turing test happens when we ask the AI to explain to us how it works.

We are pretty bad at this. Give nature enough time and an enduring decently sized naturally grown forest, and she probably will become sentient herself, figuring out who she is and what she is doing.
