Luckily we have solid data on the matter so we don't have to engage in that kind of speculation.

We do? Afaik most gamers do not become decisively more violent, while practically all actual shooters (which are very few individuals) seem to be influenced by gaming skills and aesthetics. Any data to the contrary?

Again, this is a study showing that mentally healthy people can play video games without becoming mass murderers. At the same time, the study fails to show that the very few potential mass murderers in the population don't show any reaction to violent fps video game exposure.

So are we going to ban everything that can ~possibly~ make someone (who has a mental disorder and needs medical care) go on a killing spree? How about not cutting funds for health care? The US has overcrowded prisons for a reason. And the reason is not video games.

You seem to identify structural problems of US society as moral problems, and you are possibly looking for moral answers. This will usually not work. The question of whether violent computer games can trigger adolescents with serious mental health issues is unrelated to morality.

15% of drivers cause 50% of car accidents. 80% of this 15% are young males driving under the influence or with other young males. More people die of car accidents than school shootings... Should we regulate young men from driving or owning guns.
-
We do, young men are driving much later than they want, and gun ownership is strictly regulated in most jurisdictions

games played everywhere, mass shooting only in America (it's an exaggeration, but I guess you get the point)

Yes, the US may experience a higher level of mental disorder (the precautionary principle may turn out to be good for something), which increases the number of individuals that can be triggered to fully flip against humanity
