The bad idea of the day is meritocracy. People think meritocracy is rule by the best suited. But that's aristocracy. That's the goal. Meritocracy is rule by that kid in high school who was obsessed with good grades, and thinks doing his homework entitles him to power.

I just mean "aristocracy" is literally "rule by the best". It's a pun. I also think the word should be taken back from the connotation of hereditarian decadence.
