Thanksgiving makes at least sense (it's the day when Americans are grateful that the natives did not have a military). But XMas™ seems fully colonized by an unsustainable layer of distorted memes and cultural habits that do not allow any connection to healthy spiritual roots.

Not to mention mass tree morgues piled up on sidewalks wrapped in plastic bags whence the people had their fill. Pitiful and short sighted!

The Christmas lights can be enjoyed the most when we dim all the other lights and appreciate the dark winter nights. This has a meditative effect and then the candles or small lights can bring a lot of joy. Sadly very few people do this. The music is probably good only when sung.

In Germany, I really appreciate the Christmas singing which I think is the best part of Christmas. Playing the same tunes on speakers will be really annoying.

Christmas trees with candles to scent a city apartment like the Black Forest you are reminded of when you see the cake. A wheel of Stilton, lamb chops, the Vivaldi and Vaugh Williams on a silent night in December.
