Do you consider AI to be housed within the universe of computation and do you consider computation to be a subset of logic?

Logic is Turing complete, so it is a language on which all computation can be built, but it is not the right language to learn perceptual content efficiently. However, you can use logic to implement interpreters for languages that can, and such languages can learn logic in turn.

The reason is that the theoretical foundations of AI still seem to rest in logico paradigms of thought.
