‘Virtualism’ seems a better term for pointing out that consciousness is a property of a simulation than ‘illusionism’. (However, I don’t think that -ism is appropriate to describe the only game in town. We don’t call the theory of evolution ‘evolutionism’ either.) @keithfrankish

Not directly related, but do you think there is a universal relation between a simulation and its material substrate? Like a way to recognize a simulation even when we know nothing about the concepts used by its architects?
