Google “Sugar Baby University”, then realize you ended mandatory retirement, loaded every university with unwanted administrators no one needs so that tuition rose higher than medical inflation before you made student debt non dischargeable in bankruptcy in ‘05. #AdviceForBoomers

I don't know if this will help but http://www.olin.edu/ is the youngest university I know of, has a radically different approach to engineering education, and a great reputation from what I've gathered. I'd love to see solutions like you are suggesting seriously investigated.

This is something I have thought heavily about for a long time as the university system seems to have a very standardized approach to scheduling based on terms and semesters. It seems to be a huge waste of time. Thank you bringing this up.
