Are anti-natalists, generally, existential cowards? They fear that their future children would suffer a lot; so they don't procreate for that reason. Is it essentially craven cowardice for them to take this stance, or is it good sense?

We are often people that would prefer to not have been born, and anticipate a combination of traits and environmental conditions that leads to a similarly maladaptive experience for our children.

Speaking on behalf of all of humanity, are we? How often is "often"? Because most subjective "happiness" polls make most people in most countries more (self-described as) happy than not, you know. Maybe you should mix with other sorts of people?
