The important difference does not lie between nerds (high functioning autistic people) and normies, but between adult minds and incomplete minds. The path to full adulthood is just different for nerds and normies.
No idea. I don't know if you can perceive a gap between interestingness and relevance, and what that ability or inability would imply in your case.

Well back to the original point, I think one <can> be a nerd without being on the spectrum. Do you agree or disagree?

Disagree. Because I understand the term to mean having one's epistemic intuition be based on anything other than social factors. Everyone is somewhere on that spectrum, "nerds" are simply further from those who deem them such. i.e. it is not an absolute diagnosis :)
