I think that is what monotheistic Gods always are. The mythology only exists to install the necessary functionality for synchronization, authentication, immune response, debug interface and remote control on people's brains.

Doesn't irreducibility imply intrinsic realities at different levels of organization, for example the notion of Gaia?
-
All of them are models. All are in principle reducible to the ground truth, ie the progression of the state vector of the universe.

I think that emergence can only occur as a presentation within a conscious experience. There is no mechanism or program which can produce strongly emergent properties such as private sensations.

Curious as to the notion of downward causation in a general sense, and in this context. Anything you might suggest for further reading?
-
Donald T. Campbell, Nancey Murphy, Alicia Juarrero, Terry Deacon ? But I'm not sure I believe in downward causation (although I want to)

Can you define the superorganism in this lesson for the dummies in your audience?
-
An organism is a function that describes the control of cells in service not of the individual cell, but of a higher level entity. A superorganism does the same for organisms.
