Surely if brains are not generally intelligent, that is quite strong evidence that general intelligence (at least what's meant by that definition) is not possible at all?

I would at least be curious to hear how the human brain can expect to recognize "general intelligence" if it is not itself g.i.

Yeah, what happened to PSI theory(Dörner)? Is that still relevant?
-
Yes, I still think it is the best approaches to build an understanding of emotion/motivation/sociality, and its relationship to the larger architecture. Dörner also has sound insights about representations and learning. Like Society of Mind, I think it will stay relevant.

What definitions of AGI do people stick to, generally? I always took for granted that the best approximation we have comes from human beings.
-
At some point I started to believe that some ideas of AGI seem to not just come from human beings' intelligence, but from our imagined fantasies about what general intelligence - in the ideal or in our case - entails. It often feels more of a tacit wish than a real definition.

Neither brains nor math have any access to intelligence. Both are anesthetic and automatic. Intelligence is the opposite- it is always aesthetic and participatory...a refinement of caring that breaks all systems.
