A corpus callosotomy results in a robust version of parallel consciousnesses sharing the same brain. I think it's interesting to then question how many islands of consciousness a pre-cut brain exudes without the awareness of the "self". How many parallel tracks are there?
I was unconvinced when I read it. If I understood it correctly, Fodor's notion of language seemed to stop at grammars, i.e. low dimensional discrete and highly regular representations, but the LOT is much richer than that.
