A corpus callosotomy results in a robust version of parallel consciousnesses sharing the same brain. I think it's interesting to then question how many islands of consciousness a pre-cut brain exudes without the awareness of the "self". How many parallel tracks are there?

In that case they are not integrated, so it is more like two mentally handicapped people sharing a body at the same time, I suppose. The experience of parallel first persons requires integration above the perspective taking.

is there a safe way to induce this?

Probably, but I don't know how safe and reliable it would be.
