Does it make sense to use Numba on a mac with an external GPU, or is it more reasonable to switch to a PC?

... overall, having the same OS on a laptop and on a beefy desktop make life a little easier even if Linux doesn't have a "polished" user experience. YMMV

If there is no performance bonus or MacOs compatibility benefit coming with Linux, I’d rather have the better driver support and less aesthetically insulting UI of Windows?

That's a fair point, but most of the common ML toolchains are built on Linux and as such they will always be kind of pain to install/use on Windows ...
