Haha. I’m not a fan of solipsism, personally. I reject most of the tenants of Cartesian thought as intellectually craven with almost zero practical utility. It’s a fun thought experiment for college sophomores taking philosophy 1301, I will concede.

Yes indeed. Stoning has been around for thousands of years as a matter of law. Just as allowing a father to execute the man who raped his daughter, stoning serves both as a public spectacle to disincentive criminals, and as a cathartic activity to release violent emotions ...

In my country it’s illegal to make laws which are “cruel and unusual”. And I completely agree with that legal standard. But that doesn’t prevent me from trying to understand the functionality and cultural origins of cruel behaviors such as stoning and crucifixion.
