I wouldn’t think about it as two separate categories, no. But I know that from the students I’ve worked with some are nearly always receptive to visual or verbal explanations for subjects that are otherwise confusing -

Sometimes it’s just about teaching in a novel way and other times it’s about making an analogy to something that’s familiar or more interesting to them
