Not really. Hindu Philosophy has its aims as Arth/Wealth-Power, Kama/Desire, Moksha/self related. Dharma/Compassionate method..is both objective n means of achieving these ends. Unfortunately many Western Indologists get fascinated n restricted with just Mokhsa.

The thing I love about axial age Indian philosophy is that pretty much every philosophical truth you could argue for they uncovered an argued about. No new innovation until tantrik shaivism in 9th century Kashmir which was quite the innovation I have to say....

That can be debated. Hume would disagree, Kant being a moral realist might support it but Ayer would refute it again. And Buddha will say there’s no self.

Buddha had very good intentions, but in the end he failed to understand the human condition and settled for a philosophy which denied the existence of that which he sought. Which is why I’ve always found Buddhism to be intellectually craven.
