Maybe tumors are just a normal thing that happens when a system ages, small mutations and disregulations accumulate, and its control structure loses coherence. Many US institutions carry weird growths (we sometimes point to cost disease). Aging and death make room for new things.

Functional deterioration (aging) has negative effect on the ability of adaptation. Maybe it’s the opposite, we don’t adapt well that’s why we deteriorate? New release is not necessarily less buggy.

It is not you who is adapting, but your family (or your species, if you are already too buggy to have fit offspring). And a way to deal with the deterioration of individual flexibility is to start with a fresh instance every few years or decades.
