Recently gave a talk (basically a tutorial on quasiexperimental causality) at a great university. 5 min in, a senior professor interrupted ("your talk is trivial"). Now, that was a bit disturbing. And in the end they said talk was too hard. Which talks should I give?

You recognize a good foundational talk if half the audience says it’s trivial and the other half says it’s wrong
