The claim that this is really about controlling women's bodies is horseshit. It's a side effect, not the main goal. It's just super easy to take unflattering side effects and point at it and scream loudly THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED ALL ALONG, YOU VILLAINS
I am not taking any stance here, but I am curious if you think it is ok to torture a person or animal if they won't remember it afterwards? Independently of that question, is it ok to kill someone instantly/painlessly if no-one remembers them? (I find these questions puzzling.)

I'm not ok with torture, I'm ok with the killing but only given certain conditions. "Creating a norm where people are afraid of being killed if nobody remembers them" creates harm, so I'm not down with that.

In other words, you are down with letting people disappear in their sleep, but you won't tell them because they might spend time agonizing about the question when you'll do it? :)

The foetus begins being capable of feeling pain in the third trimester.

So to you it's a matter of pain. At what stage of development does an organism feel pain? For humans, it's is the third trimester. Conservatives want to eliminate abortions much sooner than that, or all together.
