The self does not have agency. The self is a model of the mind’s agency: it does not make but documents decisions, for learning and communication. That’s why the self is tied to the experience of volition. (The self is also a model of what the mind experiences and how it reacts.)

How do you conclude that the self is tied on the experience of volition from what you said before that? I tried rereading many times and I fail to see the relation between the two ideas.

Self and volition are not just ideas. Both are experiential phenomena, which I try to associate with an adequate functional definition.
