Yep, if that 7.5 billion were still only 3.5 billion, globally sourced items like electric cars, many components of the Internet, iPhones, and many modern medical techniques and devices would not exist.

American population has increased almost 60% since 1970. That’s big growth, even in a 1st world env. Without billions of participants trading globally, growth and technology are limited to smaller, more costly options. Trade needs trading partners.
