2/2 or that a surfer surfs all waves simultaneously while deciding after the fact which is the best. 3/3 hence I'm speculating we have reality inside out and backwards. We may not disagree, btw.

4/4 "For something to qualify as an experienced content, it is necessary & sufficnt to be recalled as having been th subject of our attention. We cannot recall what we don't remember having attended to". Explain masking which contradicts last statement plz

Masking means that we stop having been conscious of a stimulus.

Or stimulus was experienced unconsciously to begin with, hence no conscious memory of it is expected. As in very short duration stimuli- say 350 milliseconds.

I am not sure what it means to experience unconsciously. Is it sufficient that a part of your nervous system registered the stimulus and passed it on, even if it was dismissed or not integrated somewhere higher up?

In that case, I would not say that "I" have experienced that. For that, it seems to be necessary that "I" have a chance remembering it later on.

Yeah The illusory ( albiet useful "I" ) has next to nothing to do with any of this. Not necessary for consciousness ( as you know).

I think that only the I is conscious. (You can strip out the I content of course, but it's still a dream character that experiences a dream.)

But if I dream of myself dreaming and waking from a dream all while asleep what word will we use for THAT 'I' or *me*?

The experience of waking up from one dream into another one is itself part of the dream.

The dream of the I. As in "I dreamt that I was flying in the clouds and then I woke up and was in my bed and worried about my parents and the state of the economy".
