I think that only the I is conscious. (You can strip out the I content of course, but it's still a dream character that experiences a dream.)

So, then it is the "I" in a coma on the table ( in your vocab)? I think and speak of the "I" as the first person "self " construct and find it less confusing for others. In these kind of discussions, it's just another idea or memeplex.
