Subtly wrong ideas are much more dangerous to progress in science than plainly wrong ideas. Some subtly wrong ideas seem to include mirror neurons, integrated information theory, the gut brain, the extended mind and autopoiesis.

Sure. The question is if one of these is derivative of the other. A lot of people like the idea that personal selfhood is socially constructed (singletons don’t need to have a social persona), and I wonder if it could be the other way around.

Certainly our personal experience contributes a lot to rendering the characters & situations we perceive, but I suspect even that bleeds out into transpersonal and impersonal resources.
