The insight that what matters is how much determinism we extract from the physical substrate, which leads to probabilistic best effort hardware. There will be no quantum supremacy.

The question then is what is stopping us today from doing that (extract determinism from p..)? Is it about abstraction and expressivity? Until Mathematics can be expressed linguistically this is going to stay.

We currently rely on hardware approximating 100% determinism. Software running on hardware that is merely better than chance (like our brain) requires new paradigms, but reduces power consumption by many orders of magnitude.
