I see where you're coming from, but a) Substantive positions are accused of simultaneously being Marxist and PoMo, not just approaches; and b) I think it's unfair to reduce all PoMo and Marxist thought to "ideological activism", and thus to find this commonality between them

Afaik the debate is not much more than the Peterson and Social Justice camps calling each other names. The latter crowd uses PoMo refs to support their antimodernist social constructionism, and Marx for their concept of oppression, but neither them nor their critics go very deep.
