Correct, except nuclear power is good.https://twitter.com/Noahpinion/status/1095777137296953344 …

Parity given current battery tech? I thought storage was still an issue. Also delivery from deserts requires a lot of infrastructure vs local delivery

The main reason to produce solar energy locally is to route around poorly incentivized energy providers. Producing energy at scale is much cheaper, even when accounting for cost and losses of transporting it. Deserts supply energy predictably, overnight storage is no problem.

Nuclear reactors require less material to make than solar panels. And solar panels degrade faster than nuclear reactors.

Fast breeder was a mistake. Thorium to the people. Safer, smaller and cleverer, with more useful byproducts. Oh, and don't tell Joscha how they mine the copper, gallium and cobalt for his precious panels and batteries. Or what those miners' lives are like. Don't upset him.

And as an addendum, nuclear reactors produce energy at a much higher rate per square inch than anything else, especially the most modern designs.

There's no way you're going to keep up with energy development on a global level with solar. It's asinine to even think that's possible. Especially with intermittency issues.
