When nuclear fails, it's horrifying. But my understanding is that it fails less often, and causes fewer deaths overall compared to alternatives.

Solar energy has price parity now, i.e. we can produce unlimited amounts of solar power at current price levels, preferably using deserts. The residual risks of using nuclear energy seem unjustified.

Fukushima is not a testament to nuclear powers danger. It's a testament to its safety. The plant was hit with EVERY catastrophe that could be thrown at it and it still containment and safety systems held.
