Thank you. This is very wise and I wish that others would follow your example. It should be a logical consequence of being aware of confirmation bias, and ethically, it is the right thing to do. I wish ethics would feel more responsible for demarcation/consensus on truth.

It's not just important for others. I deceived myself in the past when I looked for the first set of arguments that supported what I most prefer to be true (usually moral reasons), and stopped looking for counter arguments, and my peers wound not question these arguments either.

It means that your arguments will be publicly interpreted as true and false, not just as right and wrong.

I don't see how carefully making arguments addresses the issue you're describing. It seems like in this case the burden is for you to make space for others to disagree with you without risk to their social standing.
