For a a scientist the question reduces to: does philosophy of science exhibit a level of competence, insight, rigor and relevance that demonstrably improves the quality of scientific research? Until that is shown the answer is, of course, we don’t know.

I don't think you need to believe Philosophy of Science (the discipline) is rigorous, or has improved science, to have a personal philosophy of science - "your philosophy of science". Do scientists skeptical of philosophy of science not have beliefs about science?
