AI is now largely concerned with the creation of models, with each model being specific to a single task. Human learning integrates everything into a single model of the same reality, which we call the universe. Unified learning is the most important open problem in AI.

Oh, not another "brains are not computers" article... He has some valid insight scattered throughout the article, but his conceptual thinking seems to be shallow and confused, which is a shame.

Well, I'm not an expert in this field and thought its a readable summary. On the other hand I had the impression, that there is not much conceptual progress since the last time I took a look in early nineties.

Both is correct IMHO. There is only little conceptual progress (but there is some!), yet his criticism is not very competent.
