In science, it is important to know that you might be wrong, and that is a lesson that we heavily emphasize. But it is also important to know that you might be right. Progress is always driven by very opinionated people, not by intellectual cowardice.
If you are right, you are making a statement that may be in disagreement with what other people think but is not in disagreement with the ground truth.
