Let me preface this by saying play != fun, but my understanding is that both evolution and research suggest that play is the state in which people learn best. Making all things playful probably doesn’t make sense, but more things could be.

Neuro science points out that learning triggers the release of dopamine, whenever there is a change to the structure of our brain that we describe as “understanding”. So learning is “fun” whenever it is done correctly - considering that the aim of learning is to understand smth.

Dopamine is not “fun”. Depending on the region of the brain region is a signal for anticipated reward, or for reinforcement (not necessarily a pleasant one). Dopamine is kind of symbol exchanged between cells, and the meaning depends on the context.
