Is there a teachable way to determine the extent of our own ignorance and biases? I think it might be worth wile to design a curriculum around this.

Sure, but we may be able to identify the neurophysiological symptoms when people are relying on cognitive reflexes rather than engaging curiosity or willingness to consider ideas in a new way.

I suspect, for example, that we'd see patterns common to both fundamentalists attacking ideas that threaten their religion and scientists attacking ideas contrary to scientific consensus. I think those who show less of those patterns may have a better handle on their own bias.
